INTERKULTUR Foundation with its seat in Germany is worldwide the largest promoter of international choir competitions. The WORLD CHOIR GAMES, the Olympics for choirs, are only one of our numerous activities arround the globe. In 2007 Indonesia was host of the 1st ASIAN CHOIR GAMES. During the 20 years of its existence, INTERKULTUR Foundation carried out more than 88 international choir competitions.
Besides the organization of international choir competitions, it is however also the task and obligation of INTERKULTUR to promote and support young and leading-edge activities in the area of the choir music.
One of these remarkable and leading-edge activities is without doubt the "North Sulawesi International Choir Competition" that is carried out this year for the first time in Manado, Indonesia. INTERKULTUR is happy to see that the ASIAN CHOIR GAMES in Jakarta stimulated and motivated to keep on going with international choir competitions in Indonesia. This competition in Manado is an extraordinary example, what results can be created with engagement and enthusiasm and with limited financial means. My special thanks I wish to deliver to the initiator and Festival Director Mr. Tommyanto Kandisaputra and his outstanding team.
I wish the "North Sulawesi International Choir Competition" a big success and the participants i wish unforgettable experiences and an enrichment through the expansion of their knowledge in choral singing. Also I wish the festival the recognition in its own country Indonesia and abroad, a recognition and attention that it truely deserves.
